Welcome & What You Will Find Here
This site contains a variety of resources to help you start or enhance your plant-powered journey. You will find information about how (and why) to start a plant-based diet and how to stock your plant-based pantry. You’ll also find a collection of delicious recipes that anyone and everyone can enjoy.
The recipes you’ll find on this site are whole-food, plant-based (WFPB). They are all dairy-free, meat-free, vegetarian, and vegan. Most recipes will not contain processed foods, refined sugar, or oil of any kind. They will also be designed for health!
I created this website to help you improve your health through the power of plants. With that goal in mind, I provide links to various scientific studies and nutrition resources alongside each recipe, so that you can learn more and take your health into your own hands.

What is a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) diet?
It’s a diet powered by plants! A WFPB diet focuses on fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains. It’s a diet low in fat that seeks to eliminate animal products, processed foods, and oils.
I eat this way (and urge you to do the same) because of the overwhelming evidence that meat, dairy, and oil have deleterious effects on personal health and cause harm to animals and the environment. If you are struggling with a chronic health condition, your weight, or even your mental health, chances are that a WFPB diet can help.

Whole-Food, Plant-Based Resources to Explore
There are so many resources to explore if you’re interested in a whole-food, plant-based diet. To start, you may want to watch some documentaries, such as Forks over Knives or The Game Changers. You could also explore plant-based podcasts, such as The Exam Room or Nutrition Facts with Dr. Greger. There are so many choices out there!
My favorite way to learn, though, is through books. I’ve listed some of my favorite plant-based books below as a starting point.
If you only choose one of these books, let it be How Not to Die. This book, frankly, changed my life. In the aftermath of a very scary diagnosis and all that meant for me and my family, it was both solace and road map. Most importantly, it was a resource that helped me feel empowered instead of helpless. (I talk more about my WFPB journey and provide more information about How Not to Die on our About page.)
Three WFPB Steps You Can Try Today
Hopefully, the idea of plant-based eating has intrigued you! If you’re not ready to go whole-food, plant-based immediately, that’s okay. You can start taking small steps today to help make your meals more plant-iful. Here’s how:
- Incorporate more fruits and vegetables.
- Have at least one fruit or vegetable with every meal for a week.
- During week two, try to increase to two types of fruits or vegetables at each meal.
- Keep building from there!
- Reduce processed foods and meat.
- Instead of reaching for a bag of chips or a sleeve of cookies, snack on fruit, vegetables, or air-popped popcorn instead.
- Commit to making lunch or dinner meatless.
- Integrate a few plant-based recipes into your weekly eating plan.
- These recipes will give you ideas for how to replace the meat in your diet with plant-based protein.
- This will help you make the plant-based transition in a sustainable and balanced way, without going hungry. It will also help you realize that plant-based food is delicious!
